EOTASI logo fun

I've never had to design a logo before for someone, and something as awesome as a theatre company I knew it had to look good. I've been given a lot of freedom with the idea, and so I really wanted to play with boxes, looking different and/or the colour red.

So this is what I have for the wonderful people right now. My personal favourite is still the first one, just because I have a good sense that they'll like an a stretched box more than the others.

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon!

Better than the Oscars...

Final image from yesterday's work. Fancy or what?

Now, the question is, does anyone know what the objects are as a trophy? Special awesome points go to the first person to tell me. Hope everyone has a fabulous leap year day!

Helping out the 4th Floor

Hello all, just thought I'd give an update on what I'm up to! I am currently working as a volunteer PA to the Animation Programme Leader at the Bristol School of Animation which was my university as of June last year. It's great to be back! Here are some lovely people I photographed for some of my work:

(Thanks to Nick, Ollie, Harry, Roybn and Mae for having their photo taken!)

Amongst helping with DVD's and writing blogs for the university I've been making things in relation to the image below. The Bristol School of Animation are in the process of setting up a reward scheme for Graduates and Student's personal work and my job is to create an ident. With the Oscars just gone I decided to play with their format, and this is what a UWE animation award will look like. Fun eh?

Also, I met a poet last week and went to a script writer Q&A, the one and only Bob Baker, but I will talk more on that on my other blog: stuffsophwrote.blogspot.com

The Umbrella is mighter than the sword

The concept for the father in a film I'm helping Jamie Iles make. Meet Eric. Umbrella weilding father.

This along with other concepts, script work and fun related awesome will be on the Frieda blog - which is the title of the film and can be found here

Captor, Prisoner, Poster

So, I guess you're wondering what I've been up too since december's post! It's been a very busy 2012 already working with friends and working alone on projects and today I wanted to share this with you.

In my previous post I mentioned that I had been made story artist to a special project relating to creative writing and a new theatre company, and this is so far the work I've produced. A poster advertising for their auditons and a peice of concept art I've made.

I'm very proud of the poster, as I wasn't allowed to give much away. So this was the outcome. A special thanks to Jamie Iles for the layout!

This then, after the auditons is a peice of concept art about the play after seeing the auditionee's act out some of the acts, and as for the story itself this is all I can tell you:

"This is a play about a captor and a prisoner"

I am still writing with the Creative Writing people but currently writing Full Circle, my previous play into a novel and extracts will be going up on my writing blog so check it out as it's updated a little more often than my art blog at present!

Hope you all have a cracking week!

Honey, I'm off to the theatre!

Hello all, just thought I would let you all into some exciting news! I have been asked to be the permanent creative artist for the upcoming theatre company EOTASI and will be helping design their logo, publicity, programme and their concept art for their plays!

This also means I might get the chance to go to the Edinburgh Fringe with them next year which means I can visit Scotland again!

As well as this I'm currently animating (She said what?) so watch this space as I should hopefully have a new showreel up around new year.

Hope you're well!

Haunting My Costumers...

Well looky here, I have work to show!

I've had a hectic week and honestly been reading more in my spare time than drawing since we last spoke, but the reading is doing me a world of good!

Here is my most recent out and about drawings from the last week. All of these are customers at my haunt - Costa Coffee by the Habourside, Bristol. The lady on the right is one of our most recent regulars and she's been joking about shooting down the snowmen that are hanging around our building. It's a pretty ugly snowman.

Anyway, I hope your all well, my writing blog is being updated just as regularly now so don't forget to check that out as I'm hoping to be almost merge what my writing is with my story work soon too!

Now I'm off to creative writing, speak of the devil, catch you later!
